As a professional triathlete, Angela Naeth understands the anxiety and frustration experienced when faced with injury or illness. How do you stay focused and positive when your body seems to be failing you?

Naeth is a 17-time Ironman 70.3 champion and has more than 35 Ironman 70.3 podium finishes under her belt. She has clocked in a sub-9-hour finish time on multiple occasions, including her impressive first-place finish at the 2015 Ironman North American Championships in a time of 8 hours, 55 minutes. Despite this year’s challenges, Naeth still qualified to race in the Ironman Championships in Kona on Oct. 13.

She hails from British Columbia, Canada, and has coached many athletes in all areas of triathlon. A physical therapist by trade, Naeth holds a master’s degree in physical therapy and bachelor’s degree in health science. Before becoming a professional triathlete in 2008, she worked as a pediatric and orthopedic physiotherapist.

In 2017, Naeth founded iracelikeagirl, an organization on a mission to bring together a community of women of all ages and abilities, using the sport of triathlon and other endurance sports as a platform to support, encourage and inspire one another.
